Took my wife’s Ford Fiesta in for an MOT the other week and came back an hour later to a list of fails - Broken rear spring, incorrect headlight alignment, leak from exhaust system, indicator lenses faded causing incorrect colour and tyre worn beyond legal limit.
I was getting more and more worried and just about to ask the chap to actually show me these faults as I knew the car was in better shape than that when I saw the listed mileage was far higher than my wife’s car . . . and the reg number was wrong. He’d picked up the wrong Fiesta’s report from the board! Big relief. (Glad I wasn’t the owner of ther other car :¬)
Interestingly my wife’s did have an advisory on surface rust on the rear springs which were only replaced last year, and I had the same on my MX-5 the other day on the 15 month old springs fitted by WIM. You wonder what they coat them with nowadays.
