Slow Horses: Excellent - but my wife finds the Gary Oldman (Lamb) character revolting - he is, but also funny. Now eagerly awaiting each new episode of current series…
Hi Mngerhold & Mrs Mngerhold
Welcome Back
Thanks re ‘Slow Horses’ recommendation sounds like my kind of show…just seen advertising clips so far. I’ll watch anything with Gary Oldman in as he’s such a versatile actor
Meanwhile …just enjoyed Season Four of ‘Grace’ [BBC One] and
Yes folks …‘Spotted’…pretty certain there is a BRG MX-5 in the final episode [looked like an NC]
Back on Tulsa King since last week, pretty good show. Yellowstone, 1883,1923 - all worth a look too
Seen it a while ago “The Pope’s Exorcist”
Has some good horror effects in it and Russel Crowe plays his role very good. He plays a Vatican exorcist who investigates a demonic possed child, but it seems there is more than meets the eye.
What I liked most, and caught me off guard, was the explaination of the Spanish Inquisition and how this could have taken place. ( it reminded me a bit of how it was explained how Dracula came into being in the movie “Dracula 2000” )
For fans of this type of movies I think a Must see movie
In The Netherlands on Netflix.
Enjoy !!
I remember watching this but for the life of me can’t remember what I thought about it except as you suggested
‘Caught me off guard, was the explanation of the Spanish Inquisition and how this could have taken place’
I don’t do or on Netflix etc because I don’t want some algorithm advising me what to watch/not watch based on what I’ve liked or not liked in the past
But I agree …I do like movies that add factual explanations to provide better understanding of what probably more likely happened in real life
For example
On Netflix UK ‘Wyatt Earp and the Cowboy War’…totally different to what Hollywood has previous produced about the ‘Gunfight at the OK Corral’ and fascinating to watch
I see Wyatt Earp and the Cowboy War is also on dutch Netflix. Will have a look
