It could well have been that gig! It was definitely Wembley and the year is about as i remember.
New light through old windows by Chris Rea. Sad to hear of his passing today
Learning to Fly - Pink Floyd
The Calling - Santana and Eric Clapton
Angry - The Rolling Stones
Only Teardrops Fall - The Rides
And crucially: How.
Treated myself to a WiiM Ultra streamer. Game changer!
Son bought us a couple of gig tickets for Christmas for us to attend together in 2026. Quite different but love them both and been enjoying listening to them. The Darkness and Squeeze.
Can’t stand The Darkness but Squeeze have been one of my all time favourite bands for many years. They were brought up in the same part of London as me and Glenn Tilbrook went to my school. Spooky fact is that when I lived in Eltham I lived in Tilbrook Road which was also 2 doors from Boy George’s family. ![]()

It’s just now popped up again as the PC worked through my library. This one I don’t skip past.
I’m not keen on the film, but the flowing mood in the music is superb, and occasionally it surprises with some intriguing time signatures.
Son is Darkness fan and I’ve been with him to see them before. Not what I’d tend to listen to but entertaining live.
He knows I’ve always been a Squeeze fan and saw them live back in the day, so that will be a particular treat.
Granddaughter (10) has been listening to Squeeze since discovering them at Christmas and spreading the word amongst her friends, so a whole new fan base will be developing

Seen them a few times over the years and recently supporting Madness. I know they are touring this year also. Brilliant lyrical band! Thier music never seems to date!
Saw them supporting Eddie and the Hot Rods in March 1978. (had to look up the last bit)
Another great band!
