MX-5 Mark I keys locked inside the car

I have somehow managed to lock my car keys inside the car (not in the boot). Is there a way to access these without damaging the car?

You unzip the rear window. You will figure it out.

Thanks @NickD. I will give it a try this evening & if I struggle I may ask for some guidance

This did the trick. Problem resolved. Thanks a lot @NickD
You are a star

Secure car the mk1 then!

Saves cutting the roof or smashing the window to get that valuable 90’s sound system! After 30 years of being the same, don’t think it is something to start worrying about now!

There is another way for Eunos Roadsters that requires removal of the rear numberplate.

Thieves, when armed with a screwdriver, aren’t worried about undoing a zip.

On mine, they just thumped in a screwdriver in the door lock. Found the screwdriver in the burnt out remains of the car.

The other way would be to reverse up the drain holes with a long bit of wire and guide it to the door, undo the lock and in! They deserve the car if they achieve that!
