Jason Plato drove Mk4 MX5 around a track and said it was a great little car, on Fifth Gear shown on Quest last night.
Don’t worry about Jason, I could tell you it’s a great little car too.
You could tell exactly what Jason was thinking by the grin on his face. It was the same as the one all MX5 drivers have whenever they drive their MX5.
That’s just safe journalism. He should have said no car so small should be allowed on public roads today as no one’s expecting that.
It should have crash rating of one star on visibility alone….
Then there’s the ride. What car that is so light can have anything but jarring/tooth-lossening experience.
What! No turbo!
Yes, ban it because larger car owners shouldn’t have to adapt to a ‘thing’ on the roads taking up less space! In fact, it might make those, sorry, the legions, ‘driving’ with a mobile phone in their hand miss them!
Somebody at Fifth Gear likes MX5s. The next program this week includes a drive in a lovely Mk1 MX5, driven by Sid (sideways) North. It appears that they are using the MX5 as the standard to compare other sports cars against.
I worked on Fith Gear a few years ago, everyone there loves the MX5, especially Vicki. In fact, Top Gear always gave them good reviews too, Richard, James and Jeremy all have good things to say about it.
