My model of MX-5 is: 1.5 ND 2017
I’m based near: _Elgin
I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: tyres
I am currently running on Yokohama Advan 105 Sport 195/50 16 as OEM. The tyres need to be replaced and I am keen to keep the Yokohama Advan as the original fitting. I cannot however get this tyre now. I have tried most outlets but not stocked
What are MX-5 ND 1.5 owners fitting and how are they finding the tyre option v’s the OEM
Thanks

I would rate the Advans too, shame they’re not easily available at the moment.
I did put Hankook Ventus Prime 3 (probably superceded now) on one of the ND1.5’s I have owned, good summer tyre.
If you’re going to winter drive it you may want something different (I have a separate set of wheels and tyres for winter).
Use the search option here too for some ideas, it’s a frequent subject.
MX-5 Parts have these in stock.
That’s a Yoko S.Drive and not available in 195/50/16.
MX-5 Parts have the V105 listed but showing ‘out of stock’.

To be honest, i wasn’t aware that MX-5Parts sold tyres, but i thought they might be an option for him.
In any case, it’s probably going to be good old Potenzas for me when the time comes.

Actually, as my car is only used in fine weather, they will be perfectly fine.

I suppose the question is, would Mazda have fitted as standard, potentially unsuitable tyres on a sports car?
