Problem is it’s over 200 miles away so cannot view realistically.
whats the best way forward if I wanted to take it further photos or proof of sills been repaired as it states on the add it has been done. mot checker stated it failed on sills but then a retest a day later makes no mention can it be repaired and mot retested in a day? Any other thoughts or advice, Im not mechanically minded so advice would be good!!
You are logistically compromised being 200 miles from the car so in your position I would want to see photos of the front chassis legs and rear sills before even considering.
It is possible to effect good sill repair sufficient for an MOT in one day but unlikely. The repair would likely require a pre-shaped panel to be organised if done properly. Making one from scratch takes ages - I know I did this and unlikely that someone, other than an MX5 restorer specialist would have in stock. On that basis as you already suspect a full explanation with merit required.
That MOT history application is so useful, isn’t it:-)
Interesting 4 wheel drive, ESP & climate control, one wonders if the owner knows what he is selling.
Perhaps some one local could have a look for you before you travel a long way.

I was browsing ebay myself and took an interest in that car, I must say I was put off by the poor pictures, especially the interior ones. The further away shot of the side of the car isn’t showing much of the sill condition either, done on purpose?
I’ll point you in the direction of this thread for an idea of the work needed if those prone front chassis rails need attention, I’m guessing yes they will be rusty.
