The “fitment”? If you mean what size offset and PCD, they are the same as the standard wheel. So are the tyres.
Ah ok thought they might be a lower offset or something.
17x7 et45. If you want to change them, or use something else during the winter, many of the cheaper aftermarket wheels won’t clear the Brembo callipers.
Reminds me of the listing discussed in this thread where someone was trying to sell a similar delivery mileage 30th Anniversary for £35k!
Sadly the eBay link goes nowhere any more
I started looking in autumn 2019 and the 30AEs were plentiful as delivery mileage dealer pre-regs. Best price that I could find was £23k at the time, I reckon with a hard haggle that may have been sweetened further given the time of year and availability. My local dealer said there were no spare cars for showroom display, which may be why so many dealerships prereg them.
Just one stumbling block that prevented me from pressing the button - my wife’s dislike of the colour!
IIRC the 30AE doesn’t have the LED adaptive headlights, but I may be wrong.
It’s a lovely looking car and must be rare as I’ve only ever seen one on the roads.
If I had a time machine, I’d dial back to autumn 2019 and pick one/four up and stick in storage.
Mind you, if I had a time machine there’d be other priorities to sort out first, like world peace and not selling my much-missed Honda S2000.
Yeah the colour is what made me hesitate too. There are 2 near me but I don’t think I’ve seen any others on the road. The individuality of them doesn’t really add value for me, just the fact it’s got the nicer wheels, seats and brakes.
The s2k was another option but I’m done with old cars now. Selling my old faithful ep3 track car to make way for an mx5.
So there were still some left in dealerships?
Ep3, nice! My S was one of the last off the production line in June 2009. Took it on track a few times, but not done that with the 5.
Yes, dealers couldn’t get shot it seemed at one point during the winter months. My GTSportNav+ was an 8miler prereg for a shade under £20k. Have always bought convertibles during winter time.
I thought that whole winter vs summer pricing was a myth, until I started looking for an mx5, ha.
Thought it might affect demand but not price so much. Love the gt, just not keen on the light colour interior
I bought my 30ae rf in November 19 with a full body kit, even with 2000 off the price it was still just a shade under £30k. I recently checked what i would get for it against the 100 ae or gt sport tech rf and it was only £21250. So i decided i would keep the 30th, personally i think the colour is great but they loose money the same as any other new car
Keep it , I did a we buy any car quote a few days ago ( just for kicks ) and it came back at £21,500 , so I would imagine a forecourt price would be anywhere between 23 to £25,000.
I like the colour because it divides opinion, it’s a sports car in bright orange , whats not to like ?
As a side note I visited a Lotus dealership with my son , their most ordered colour this year ( orange)
When I bought my 2018 ND2 2litre in July 2020, I was at the top end of my budget (Under £20k) so a 30AE was out of my price range… I’m not totally sold on the Racing Orange colour - Had there been one available say for about £23k when I found my Ceramic ND2…! I can’t honestly say one way or the other if I would have found the extra money to buy the 30AE.!
One thing you can say about orange cars is they’re certainly HI-VIZ ! You can’t miss seeing one amid the stream of cars in the monochromatic spectrum!
There are an increasing number of orange performance cars round here (there are a couple of specialist tuning firms down the road), Ford RS, Mustang, Golf, Aston, Lambo (?), Bentley Cont., so my 30AE is in good company! Along with my orange Aygo!
Yeah, the stone leather is a bit of a pain as seems to mark easily but has grown on me.
My absolute favourite model is the 2016 Recaro Sport in ceramic. But with the ND2 engine please.
@DC04R
Keep in touch with this company…even though they have just put reserved on 2 x 30ths…

Messaged him a couple of times on fb. Guess he’s busy as isn’t the most responsive. Looks like he’s my competition too in trying to get one!
Best to phone, and has sold many mx5’s to club members and is very genuine person…
Cool OK cheers. Yeah seems to be a trusted source. Will bear him in mind. Be good to get one off a fellow enthusiast though so I don’t have to pay a mark up!
If you change your mind and would go for the rf. I would consider selling my 30th ae. I’m going electric, 500 miles like new no marks no chips.
How much to ppf a ‘to keep’ mx5? Any ideas?
