Hi everyone, I am looking for a ‘california’ badge that is missing from the passenger side of the car, does anyone know where I can get please ?

Wish it was 11, but no, it’s not for mine, it’s for a friend who has a California it is in perfect condition but has lost the emblam from the passenger side

Your friend could call P.H. Sports Cars (01332-898666 or 01332 799298). They have a large number of MX5’s for dismantling and I saw a California in there recently.

I think its classiccapsule.com now thought. They don’t list the badges on the site, but might be able to make some.
Unfortunately classiccapsule.com’s printing machine broke and they can no longer produce these resin badges with their new one. I spoke to them and they couldn’t tell me of anyone else that could make them either.
Does anybody have one they can take a high resolution, well lit, close up photo of?
There are other badge making companies, in the US for example, but I cant find a picture of them anywhere on the internet and classiccapsules wouldnt respond to my request for their artwork.
oh, autolink were also suggested in other posts on this forum but they just told me they’d sell the badges with the wings if they had them, which they didnt.

As a graphic designer for over 20yrs I’d be happy to recreate it for you in order to get some more made, however I’d probably need a better example so I can get the sun graphic 100% correct, the font I can work out from this one.
I haven’t got a better pic than this, these badges seem to be really hard to get hold of and I only need one for a firend !!!

Are the originals resin coated or just stickers with the metal backing?

I have a MK2 California and although the badge bases are on the car there are no graphics on them. Do you have any of the ones that you had made left and if so what is the cost of them.
ok, so I just spoke to the printers in this ongoing saga and am due to get a second batch which will be better than the first which I returned to them. My will in the hunt for the replacements has been renewed and am sorry to all that have been waiting on me for these. The only comfort could be that I’m waiting too! Unless anyone else has had more luck getting replacements? I’d be interested in hearing back if so… .

I tried to reply to the e mail I received re the California badges but I had an e mail from the “administrators” saying that I hadn’t replied correctly so I hope that that is the correct way.

Right! finally, photo below. I’m not completely happy with the colour but they fill the gap and so until i can find another printer whose resin badges dont affect the background printed colour (or that can advise how to or amend the colour so they come out correctly) these are the best I can do/get.
It has been a real effort to get this far and as a ‘temporary fix’ it’ll do for me and hopefully any of the yellow perils too.
