Can anyone recommend a particular fuel injector (NA 1.8) cleaning/ refurbishment service? My MX5 is stuck in a garage. The previous service has let me down due to illness. One of the injectors is leaking during fast idle causing high CO. Ideally somewhere in the East Midlands.
I used Bob Beck Fuel Injection, Unit 2, Rigby Close, Heathcote Industrial Estate, Warwick, CV34 6TH Excellent service by post, cleaned and checked with a print out and certificate. £60.00. Found him on ebay…!

Can I ask how you found it was leaking please?
I had the ignition on and the fuel pump running for a time (I have a ME221 ECU) it would be overfueled when I went to start it. Incidentally this is not my normal practice leaving it switched on, but I was fiddling with the electric windows at the time so kept switching the ignition on and off!
Since the injector clean the car runs even better now, much smoother, so well worth while doing.
By process of elimination. The car is over fueling, and other culprits have been accounted for. Its been progressively getting worse. Engine has about 90k miles on it, but its a replacement for another from long ago, so things like the injectors were transferred over at the time. There are now about 180k kms (about() on these injectors. Engine passing on idle, but failing on fast. Garage noticed a slight irregularity on fast idle.
OK - I would say it is worth doing. Mine had variations in pressure and spray pattern before cleaning and were near perfect afterwards.
One month on, still no MX5 back. The first outfit (one man band) apparently ended up in hospital, and injectors returned. So the next place off they went. A week later, sorry, covid outbreak, will be at least 3 weeks… Not even sure this will fix the issue.
