MX5 Mk1 Berkeley Windscreen Replacement Tinted or not?

Hi Folks,

I’m having the windscreen replaced on my Berkeley through the usual faceless installer. Questions asked over the phone: Is the screen tinted blue or green.

The screen in my car looks like it is not tinted, so they have ordered a clear one.

Can any other Berkeley owners out there check theirs?

Or does anyone know if the screen should be tinted or not?

Like I said mine looks to be clear, but whos to say it is the original screen.

Thanks
Dan

I think the blue and green thing is the actual colour of the glass and it will be tinted ever so slightly.

As i Recall, Eunos Roadsters are one colour and UK models another.

It may help or maybe not, but look at your drivers door window when its down and look at he top edge (ie side on not at the surface, the glass will appear blue or green) alternatively try placing a bit of clear white paper against the windscreen glass and you should be able to se the tint if you look for the angle against the thickness.

Good luck.

Green car, green tint [:D]

Dunno how it works for MX5s but on my old Honda CRXs the imports had brown tint and the UK cars had green - regardless of the colour of the paint.
