I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: 4 Button Key Fob
Replaced my key fob using internals from old key fob. Now find out that there is a microchip in the key section of the key fob which governs the immobilizer. I seem to have lost this during the swapover. Can someone please tell me what the microchip looks like and what to do if I cannot find it?
Cheers MaxBlack. Wish I’d come onto the forum and seen your response before starting this! I kept all the pieces from the original key fob except for the part with the immobilizer chip embedded in it. It was so smashed up I didn’t think I’d ever need it again. Thrown in the bin and unfortunately the refuse collector came the other day.
Any idea what I can now do to solve this problem? Can I get a new fob which includes a microchip that can be programmed? I do have a static (non flip) key which starts the engine; guess that has an inbuilt chip in it.
Cheers.
I see that luckily you have another working transponder chip.
If you send me the other transponder, I can create you a replacement for the one lost but it will mean sending me your only working transponder chip, so special delivery.
It will come back by return special delivery so minimal downtime.
Private Message me if interested.
I also have high quality replacement fob cases and internals, if required. Should be possible to cut the fob key blade from the profile of your static key.
