MX5 MK3 Suspension Springs

I have an MX5 MK3 2009 1.8.
When driving it I frequently bottomed the car on rough roads and it did seem that the car looked low.
I decided that it must have lowered springs so I purchased a used set of springs and shocks. After removing one of the front suspension spring/shock I found it to be identical to the one I bought. Is there an easy way to establish whether both springs are lowered are standard?
Appreciate any help John

The word Eibach on the spring at the bottom of the photo implies that it’s a lowing spring. To be fair though, the length of the damper and spring assembly when removed will be governed by the travel of the damper. For a proper check you’ll really need to remove the springs. I’d guess that the the top spring in the photo is a standard spring, although the bump stop doesn’t look original so it could have been changed too.

Hmm.

Looking at the picture the top spring must be the one you removed because the bottom coil is collapsing onto the perch. It might even be cracked or broken under where the rust is.

Compare it with the bottom spring which has a smooth continuous lift all the way round to leave the flat part of the perch.

Thanks for the reply, I have now examined the springs more closely and found a part number for the bottom one confirming that it is a sports spring (the one I took off) , the top one is a little more difficult so I will have to take off to confirm.

Thanks for the reply, it was actually the bottom one I took off, but I have found a part number on it confirming that it is a sports spring. I will be sending the replacement springs back, but now looking for a replacement set again.
Just one question is it just the springs that need to be replaced, to get the car back up to the standard height .
