What kind of competition?

Are we perhaps talking motorsport, or concourse/show & shine?

Hi Wardy
1997 MK1 1800 turbo. Motorsport.: Hill Climbs, sprints and track days.

I took mine all the way to Sheffield to Rodders/Autotronix in Sheffield

With you now. I’d probably go to Roddisons as well.

I also use Roddisons in Sheffield for looking after my NBFL sprint/hc car and am in South Lincs - very happy with the work so far. More locally I think Thrussington Garage near Leicester do motorsport related work, but I haven’t used them so can’t comment further.

Thanks
Car has suddenly gone extremely rich. Returning around 15mpg, road use only,
and I haven’t used it hard since last season. I suspect the old Adaptronic ECU. Nobody seems to have the software, so it may have to be an ME221!! and I can’t find anyone reasonably local with the experience and a rolling road.
I will probably go to Roddisons to get the suspension tuned, but south Worcestershire to Sheffield at 15mpg…!!!

hiring a trailer maybe cheaper.
get in touch with the midlands area coordinator (ken morris) he is an expert on mk1/mk2 and has done hillclimbs and has his own racecar - he may be able to help with diagnosis

Thanks George.
On holiday at the moment, so will contact Ken when I get back.

Ah! I assumed south midlands was somewhere like Leicestershire. South Worcestershire to Sheff is a long way, so probaby not much use as a suggestion. Good luck getting sorted :+1:

This is in the South West Midlands area of the forum!!!

I took mine from south Herefordshire to Autotronix and to Roddisons

Roddisons for me too, my car went from him to Autotronix also in Sheffield for tuning. Maybe they could help with that side of things.
As you say its getting there, I’m only around an hour away so a bit easier for me.

Hi Richard - tbh I hadn’t noticed the location-related Forum area the post was mae in. And as per my earlier post my geography is obviously wonky as had a vision of South Midlands being Leicestershire. My post was well intended, even if my geography isn’t that good. And what sort of a Forum would it be if all the posts were sensible and relevant?
