MX5 NC Driver Door Lock not responding to car key

  2. I’m based near: Wolverhampton
  3. I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on:
    The driver door lock is not responding to the car key. Please do advise if anyone has faced similar issues and the solution please. Thanks

Mechanical key won’t turn? If it’s mechanical issue try WD40. If you mean remote then check the battery.

If the other locks work off the fob like the passenger side door and boot lid ok then this points to the driver’s door lock actuator has failed.
It’s becoming a common issue now with NC’s say over 10 years old, more use on the the drivers side although the passenger side can fail too over time
Easy enough fix, new unit from the dealer or Mx5parts if they do them nowadays. Door card off and swap out after removing numerous securing bolts etc.
