MX5 NC factory engine size, gearbox & diff options

From my understanding there was only 2 options here.
1.Standard 5 speed non-LSD with a 1.8L engine
2. Sport - this was the only way to get the 2.0L? and the sport only came with the 6 speed and the LSD?

Was this the case or was there other combinations too?
Does anyone have the options list for this car?

The standard 2 litre models had an LSD with a 5 speed box. The 1.8’s standard models came with a 5 speed no LSD.
Yes all Sports and the later Sport Tech of the NC2 were 2L 6 speed with LSD.
This below lists the models and specs…

Awesome, thats exactly what I was looking for, did not know there was a 2.0 5 speed!
makes sense now looking at the parts list, was not sure if the website I was using was accurate.

Next question, was there a difference in gearing between the 5 speed and 6 speed LSD?
And I am assuming the answer is yes, but can you swap between them, or is the dirve shaft bolt pattern different on the LSD between the 5 and 6?

Edit***
answerd my own question, looking elsewhere on your linked site gives the answer to the gear ratios!
nice resource there MickAP

That is beyond my knowledge I’m afraid, someone else can probably step in and answer.

I have a 2006 Sport ( 2ltr, 6 speed, LSD, Bilstein suspension, 12mm rear anti roll bar )

My mate has a 2007 SE ( 2ltr, 5 speed, LSD, Std suspension, 11mm rear anti roll bar )

My 5th gear is lower than his 5th gear but my 6th is higher than his 5th.
