MX5 ND Front Springs Broken (Backorder)

  1. My model of MX-5 is: ND Sport Nav
  2. I’m based near: Edinburgh
  3. I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: Front Springs

I put my MX5 in for an MOT it was found that the a Front Spring was Fractured & has to be replaced, my local garage found that these are on a months waiting list from most suppliers, but as my car is a sport MX5PARTS have these (Sport only) ex-stock just now I would advise you to check yours to be on the safe side. Sport Shockies are £200 each… My Sport Nav is a 2017

I thought that the springs on the “Sport” model where the same as the springs on the standard model and it is just the Bilstein shock absorbers that are different. If not I have been educated!

Looking at the prices I would be tempted to go for the Eibach “Pro Sport” springs which are better value for money and will improve your cars handling.

Quite gob smacked that you have suffered a broken spring on a 5 year old car.

I called MX5PARTS for confirmation on the springs for my car, they were very helpful  . If your Shock absorbers are Yellow then its the Sport Springs you need not the standard ones. They have plenty of the sport in stock but Mazda didn’t have these or my local Spare Car parts supplier and were on a long lead time…

Well that is two of us now with broken springs on a 2017 sport nav. Maybe it is going to be a trouble point on the ND
