2018 ND RF
The folding roof has this black panel at the rear of the roof (the main part of the roof is paint coloured).
What is this black panel made from? Is it glass or plastic? Any advice how to polish it?
Not sure what the material is, but mine looks brilliant after a coat of Auto Glym super resin polish.

The main part of the roof is plastic, the narrow middle section is metal and the rear section is plastic. That is on a 2024 RF, I don’t know if that is any different from earlier models though. The main section on ours is piano black rather than the same colour as the rest of the car.
Personally I would avoid polish which is slightly abrasive and opt for a wax product.

My roof has some very fine scratches on the black part. Being a bit OCD, I was wondering what were the options, I guess these:
- Replace with new OEM panel (how easy is that)?
- Seal with something wax like or poorboys Black Hole?
- Vinyl wrap this panel the same colour?
Option 3 is interesting as I could get the rest of the roof wrapped and the mirrors at the same time. I had my NC RC roof wrapped (professionally) and it looked very good especially with the wheels painted to match.
