Mx5 nd2 2.0 exhaust Centre section options

Are there no other options for the centre pipe?

If you have the valved version of your Ulter exhaust, did you consider their seemingly catted half centre section?

The manufacturer isn’t exactly descriptive and doesn’t say whether it’s high flowing :man_shrugging:

An alternative from Italy is Aros Exhausts Systems:

With a 200 cat and without a resonator, it works out to be £600 inc stamp duty and VAT (ex delivery).

Not much choice and it appears BBR are surprisingly the cheapest for this type of product. On the other hand, there are several straight pipes which are considerably cheaper

If the bbr car 100% passes the mot I’d go with it.
Actually wondered if anyone was selling an oem centre pipe so I can cut the silencer out, but retain the cat.

Hi Edoardo. I’m considering the super 200 for my nd2 which I think you have had. I am conscious the performance boosts will not be that great, from the standard 184. Did you get a good feeling of difference after having it done? Noticeably better throttle response? Also can I just confirm that with the catted option you still need it to be hot to pass the MOT? Is that much of an issue with whoever does the test?
Cheers
Duncan

Hi @duncanjb yes I had the BBRGti super 200 done to my 2019 ND2. WIth catted manifold, center section and sport exhaust.
The performance boost is noticeable but not great.
However, the feeling good factor, due to to the 8k rpm and the exhaust note IS GREAT. Would I do it again if I bought another ND2 ? I don’t know. I would certainly redo sport exhaust (and steering wheel) but I would miss the extended redline if I didn’t. Throttle response is good but not sure I notice that so much. Perhaps it’s just me.

As for the MOT, on the first year after the upgrade my Mazda garage failed it and I went back to BBR for the MOT. Now my Mazda dealer seems to have got the hang of it and I have passed easily.

In summary, I’m happy to have it. No regrets yet.

Anyone fitted

Racing Beat MX5 ND 2016-24 Race Connecting Pipe

Competition Race Pipe (2-piece) is intended to replace the stock mid-pipe on the MX5, thereby eliminating the integrated secondary catalytic converter.

cost £480.00 approx

for that amount of money I’d want a cat included.
