On 2nd Jan 2009 I spotted an icy blue Niseko RC parked outside Halfords in Keighley, West Yorkshire. It was the first one of these I’d seen at close quarters and it looked beautiful. So much so that I’m now looking for one of these myself, so if anybody knows where there’s one for sale…
There is a couple on Autotrader at the moment…
The ones on Autotrader seem to be either silver, or the 1.8 soft top version, whereas I’d really like the icy blue 2.0 Roadster Coupe.
Hi
Did you have any success. I’m also looking for an Ice Blue Niseko? Any tips deeply appreciated!
Regards Chris
Hi Chris,
Good news and bad news on the icy blue Niseko front. The good news is that I did find several examples of the car, ranging from £9999 (surely a misprint) to nearly £17k. The bad news is that when I came to drive one I found that the seat wouldn’t go anywhere near low enough for me to be able to get a comfortable driving position. I’m 6’1" and even with the seat at its lowest point and slightly reclined, my head was still braced against the roof. With the roof down it was even worse as there was an unbelievable amount of buffetting, even at low speed. So, much as I like the car, I decided against it.
As regards finding a car though, if you have a look in the online version of Autotrader you can set up a search for the car you want, so that when one becomes available you will get an email, without having to search every day, The other place I looked was on the Mazda website and a couple of the more expensive ones came up on there, as did the one at £9999 although this sold immediately as might be expected at that price. They seem to have changed their search locator recently and it doesn’t look as though you can search specifically for a Niseko as you could before. It may also be worth trying Ebay Motors. There was a 1.8 version in icy blue on there that hung around for a bit, but I never found the RC version, which I think is the one to have.
Good luck with your search.
Andrew
