Mx5 parts discount for owners club

Hi all before I order some bits from Mx5 parts I see there is a discount code facility on checkout is there a code for club members or does anybody have a valid code thanks

Hi

No mx5parts club discount code

but they do have a 10% discount weekend on some bank holidays & at our club rally’s

if  join mazdamenders there is a discount for Autolink

Autolinkuk’s OC discount code is listed here:
https://www.mx5oc.co.uk/forum/yaf_postst83897_PARTS-AND-ACCESSORIES.aspx

You can’t use it in combination with any other code. The MM discount changes all the time, and is a bit random.

Personal I have never understood how they don’t offer discount or one has never been negotiated they advertise all over the forum and are always at shows

MX5Parts normally offer a 10% discount on bank holiday weekends.

Spring bank holiday is 28th May so if you can wait 2 weeks there should be another opportunity to save a bit of money:-)

Or come to the Club Rally save 10% (alongside show offers) and you also get free delivery too.

MX5 Parts support this Club in various ways, advertising costs aren’t free, but they advertise in both STHT and via this forum. As a former National Events Organiser, I can tell you without their continual support at Club Rallies, most events would be less well attended. I always made a point of thanking them for their attendance, you have no idea what it brings to Club events. Their appearance also brings in competitors of various types, all anxious to sell new and second hand parts to members. Attendance at Rallies also costs them no small sum in terms of accommodation, manning stands, transportation costs etc. They also do not (or did not) have their own marquee, they always hired one from a local supplier, so adding to the overall cost.

That they also still offer discount at those events is to their credit, so I would not support any request for them to offer a year long Club discount, which would be totally unwarranted. Some traders have to be cajoled to attend Club events, but those worth their salt also contribute to the Club in various ways, including costs etc. That MX5 Parts are the main draw is obvious, and i was amazed to see the non appearance of Moss for many past Rallies, though i attribute that to the apparent closing down of branches, and less ‘visibility’ via advertising etc. (a bad trading oeriod?) - Who knows.

I would add for those with cynical thoughts, NO event organiser has ever received one penny from any trader attending Club events, they are there under their volition, and choice of site is entirely at their own request. The choice of the trading site is generally part of the Event Organiser’s remit, you have to allow for it in the most conceivable area, though at more recent events, it has not always been in favour of those traders, or buyers either. - My own thoughts entirely. Event Areas and traders do not mix!

You don’t appear to be a club member, only a forum member

Well spotted Bob - we all missed that.

Why should they give an ongoing discount to OC members, they are in business to make money. Without them many MX5 owners would struggle to source parts.

And the ones that give discount are not in the business of making money

Well lets not forget their cosy little deal with IL Motorsport. Try ordering parts for the UK from ILM. MX5parts act as essentially exclusive distributors for ILM for the UK market. Its made very difficult on the ILM website to get a UK shipping price, and I have heard they will not ship to the UK

Otherwise, the obvious alternative for service parts is Mazda. MX5Parts offers convenience, but their prices are generally similar to Mazda UK, and most dealers will try and price match (the delivered price). Some dealers might still offer OC members discount (they used to, on a dealer by dealer basis).
