Did anyone order anything from MX5parts over the recent bank holiday weekend, i know it’s only six working days ago but i haven’t received anything yet and i’ve had an e-mail saying dispatched.
In the past whenever i’ve ordered anything it’s arrived within 24-48 hours.
Or maybe i am being a little impatient.
Did you order anything and receive it?
MX5Parts delivery is usually excellent but they do use Royal Mail who generally give them excellent service. Having said that the Royal Mail are currently struggling. I use them a lot and they have got worse as we move forward with Coronavirus. It would seem likely that the situation has got to the point where even preferential customers like MX5Parts are now sharing some of the burden of a struggling service.
I’d say you have waited long enough. I ordered a handbrake cable from another company that went out on 26th RM 24 hour service, finally arriving yesterday. Give MX5Parts a call to see what they suggest. Unfortunately I don’t think they do tracking but they may have more of a handle on the general situation with their deliveries.
Thanks for the reply, i’ll give them the benefit of doubt until the end of the week before contacting them as they have never let me down in the past.
Dave.
Ordered a brake pads and disc set during the 10% discount period, along with an air and oil filter.
Damn heavy, so arrived via courier within a couple of days.
Then, being disorganised , ordered an additional item at full price on the Tuesday. That arrived by Royal Mail yesterday.
They are behind (RM) a couple of weeks ago they likened it to be worse than the Christmas period, especially packets which are backed up.
Having said that I ordered oil from Opie, it came via FedEx within 48hrs. At the same time I ordered a filter off eBay, that arrived via Royal Mail an hour after the oil, go figure?
I’m still waiting for oil plug washers and another filter from Autolink, promised first class but I guess it may be delayed.
I’ve made a few orders from various places recently. Most of them have been delayed by a few days. I don’t see any reason to doubt that MX5Parts have marked your order as dispatched when it isn’t. They seem to be a decently run company.
I ordered some bits from mx5 parts on the 26th and they arrived yesterday, 1st…
I’d say they should have arrived by now. Give them a call!
Both my regular RM posties have been off sick for the last week or two, and a sequence of very, very young substitutes are covering for them.
I guess it is inevitable with a high-risk job like theirs, even though they appeared to be following the rules properly. I hope they are OK, both are really good people, know everyone and everyone knows them.
I ordered the ILMotorsport alloy pedal covers in the sale. Ordered Thursday, arrived the following Tuesday
( including a weekend and bank holiday) not too bad I guess. Our RM postie, great guy, is under a lot of pressure with massive delivery overload but they won’t pay him overtime to finish deliveries. What doesn’t get done that day, doesn’t get done
Barrie
I placed an order with them on the 26th, still waiting for the delivery.
My sister is a postie. They’ve been inundated with parcels for 10 weeks now, to the extent Saturday is currently exclusively for parcel deliveries (in her office at least, but I suspect that’s nationwide).
She compared it to the Christmas period x10 every single day, but without the prior planning and temporary staff recruitment they do to prepare for that known busy time.
It’s very hit and miss. First class taking over a week, or next day, parcels the same. Our local deliveries can be either daily or once a week depending on workload, rotas etc… All in all check with MX5 Parts, but don’t panic.
It is not just the post.
On 15th May I booked a delivery from Wickes for some building materials, delivery to be on 28th May via courier Wincanton.
3rd of June and it has still not arrived, and on my account at Wickes the order says ‘Processing’.
An out-of-stock item was delivered directly by their supplier a week before the scheduled Wickes/Wincanton delivery.
The Wickes customer service bot has acknowledged my polite enquiry asking when the delivery might actually happen, but no human intervention yet, and I’ll not be pestering them on the phone.
As it is only garden stuff I’m happy not to be out there; I did my ration yesterday.
My son has been relocated from his Royal Mail offce to help with the workload elsewhere. He processes the mail on the night shift, they simply can’t cope atm. He’s a little happier now too that they can at least operate with some form of social distancing but that is very difficult in the environment he works in. You are quite correct, Saturdays are parcel delivery days only around here. Our regular postman is now a postlady because she can drive and Andy the postman can’t drive. Only one to a van now for distancing purposes, so that places an heavy load on just the the one post person.
I did the job for a number of years (outdoors) before moving indoors on the night shift for 24 years, I’m so glad I’m retired now. I still know lots of post people and feel for them right now, it’s difficult for them at the best of times but right now I know they are pulling out all the stops to get the mail delivered.
I mentioned earlier that I had an order outstanding from Autolink, that’s now been delivered. So it took 5 days including the weekend, so not bad at all but…
Part of the order was incorrect (short) so I contacted them and asked them to send the remainder, no worries no rush was the message to them.
Today exactly 24hrs later the rest of the order arrived, ok it was in a small envelope type packet so essentially a letter.
Big thanks to Autolink and also to Royal Mail for getting it here from Scotland.
Still nowt for me.
Waiting for MX5parts, bits from China, a package from a fellow OC Member and various documents.
Thinking about it i don’t think i’ve seen a postie for at least two weeks.
My order was delivered this morning, which placed on the 26th May.
I placed an order with MX-5 Parts on 29th May, it arrived this morning - was very happy with this timescale given the current situation.
Just got home from work and it looks like my postie has dumped his sack through my letter box and whatever wouldn’t fit was hidden behind the wheelie bin.
Happy now.
That’s good news Dave!
