So just bought my first Mx5 and it’s a phoenix limited edition in metallic Titanium. My question is, if it’s a limited edition then wouldent it be numbered and if so how do i find out what number it is,??.
Not all special editions were numbered, those that were had a sticker or badge, I don’t recall Phoenix being one of the numbered editions. Try giving your chassis VIN number to a Mazda dealer they may be able to search their database and find out more about it.
Right thanks mate. I just assumed that a limited edition would have a number. Will give your idea a go.
Pretty sure they’re not a numbered special edition. There’s only one on our Club register so far and that’s not noted with a number.
Right well is there anyway to find out how many of them are left still on the road.?.
I hope you have better luck than I did, I chased Mazda for an answer on mine and got this back
Dear Mr Dale
Re: – R168ORF
Thank you for your email.
I apologise for the delay in my response, I forwarded your MX-5 details to our brand analyst who specialises in this model.
Unfortunately, we are unable to advise the specific number of your MX-5. Mazda UK have been advised by Japan that this edition didn’t receive individual numbering.
If you need any further assistance please feel free to call me on 08457 48 48 48. We are here between 8.00am to 6.00PM Monday to Friday.

Thank you for your email.
As requested I have been back in contact with our Brand Specialist who specialises in the MX-5 model who confirmed Unfortunately Mazda UK do not hold any information on special edition product numbers. We have also been in contact with Mazda Japan who unfortunately also confirmed they hold no record of this.
If you need any further assistance please feel free to call me on 08457 48 48 48. We are here between 8.00am to 6.00PM Monday to Friday.

Right… Well that is disappointing. What’s the point of a limited edition run of cars if they aren’t numbered,??.
Still is there anyway to find out how many Mx5 Phoenix’s are still on the road I wonder,??..
Might be the fact that there where so many limited editions that the word limited had the p#ss taken out of it and it became marketing bling, kept the bloke at the end of the line sticking the plaques busy though
Take a look at
http://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/vehicle/mazda_mx-5_phoenix
Looks like 1019 on the road and 56 SORNed
Ahh right, thats a cool site, will use it again thanks.
