How did you guess…?!! Lol!
I’ve heard a bit about an mx5 colour called ceramic!
My son is an accountant and he reckons we’re in for a period of hyper inflation… He plays the stock market and that’s what a lot of the big players are suggesting…
With the new 5% deposits you watch a repeat of the crash of 2008/9…

Other “big players” are saying that’s nonsense, and even suggesting those who put that idea forward are participating in some sort of scam.
I would hazard a guess those originating such rumours are the same sources who generate most of the fake news, and they have a single aim; to destroy confidence in Western democracy.
MX5 prices rising? You bet!! If you want my 30AE it’ll cost you £35k.
Well we will see in time…
I noticed a similar car to mine Mk 2 2001 auto <50k was on Auto trader for £3,900 with extra £450 for hard top. I may be interested in sellling mine at them rates
I’ve just seen a 2015 MX-5 NC 1.8 Sport Venture advertised for £19995 Which apparently is over £10k more than the market average… And it’s sold!
Where was this?!
AutoTrader…
How do you know it sold at that price?
It just say’s it sold - No idea for how much…! I like to keep an eye in for MX-5’s for about the price I bought mine for - Was surprised to see this one listed in this price bracket…!
Its a mistake. The same car was listed elsewhere for £9495.
Was it always listed at this price just sold cars before and if I’ve got a potential positive buyer coming I’ve upped the price sky high to put others off from contacting me until I get a yes or no. Strangley enough sometimes got more enquiries with an highly inflated price than the original.
Only first saw it a couple of days ago, so no idea! Could be a simple typo!
Pleased I’ve got that a venture then!
That sounds more like it
I started speculatively looking to sell my mk1 a couple of weeks ago (baby on the way and as far as I know they don’t do an ISOFIX boot rack ) and I was pleasantly surprised to see how prices were stacking up.
I paid very strong money for my mk1 7 years ago but I’d easily get all that back +20% if I was to sell tomorrow. Probably more…
…and yet I can’t bring myself to do it. We’ll be buying a new house at some point and if that ends up having a garage I can keep it in I’ll probably keep hold of it even if it does only get a few runs out a year.
If you can keep it, I recommend you do, as you will only regret it if it goes… a lot of threads on this forum have those immortal words “I wish I had kept it”…
I’ve only ever sold two cars and I had massive sellers remorse from one of those so you are probably right!
It is actually my wife who is even more keen for me to keep it, already saying that she’d be happy to drive an additional car with child in tow so we can still attend the annual meets together!
If circumstances mean that I can’t keep it I’m sure I’ll be back to the fold many years down the line in a ‘classic’ ND!
