Hi all, I’m new to all of this and am looking for advice.
My model of MX-5 is: Mk2 NB (1998) only 32,000 miles on the clock with no signs of rust.
I’m based near: Maidstone
I’m looking for a specialist that can give my car a service and a good looking over to see if there’s any issues as I head towards an MOT. Purchased it 4 weeks ago and want to slowly give the car a complete overhaul.
I wasn’t able to make the owners day in May and already know I can’t make the one this month otherwise I’d be having these conversations with some of you face to face!
I would have a chat with David at Maidstone auto centre in Wateringbury would be my shout as he has a local garage that preps any issues with his mx5’s he sells
Welcome Harps, there used to be an MX-5 specialist down Sutton Valence hill. Not sure if he’s still there.
You could also try Maidstone FB page maybe, if you don’t find what you need here.
I’ll be keeping an eye on your post as I will need work on my '53 Angels edition before next year’s MOT.
Worth giving a shout to the guys at Freelance Mazda in Chatham (not too far from Maidstone). Mark (the Mazda specialist) is very honest and fair with his assessments and work. While I had my NB, I took it to him for work and servicing. His pricing is very reasonable also, which is a win. Just bear in mind, he’s often quite busy, but is usually happy to book the car in.
Thanks…
I had found these guys but they’re around 1hr 30mins drive.
It may be my only option but I’m just trying to find out if there’s anyone a little closer.
WalkMX5,
Thank you for this tip. Where is Freelance Mazda please? I want some advice re bubbling on the wheel arches and an MOT advisory (two years ago!) that the whole exhaust should be replaced! I wonder?
PS I was being lazy, I’ve just looked them up and found the website - definitely worth calling them Thank you.
KentMX5 at the bottom of Sutton Valence Hill opposite the filling station is now in the hands of Kevin (mobile 7951 651092). I’ve just this minute returned from there as my Mk2 was rammed from behind by a skip lorry last Thursday. He certainly does do bodywork as he recently made an excellent job of correcting an old bodged repair to the rear wheel arches and is now going to repair the accident damge to my car. He may well do servicing but you’d need to check first.
