Saw one today…

When the snooker was on at the Assembly Rooms in Derby I would occasionally come up behind CUE 1.
It was Ray Reardon. I was too scared to overtake him.

I think at the time I met Ray he had a dark coloured (blue maybe) BMW. I bought a cue off him when he was at Pontins in North Wales, lovely chap. I had to go out to the car with him, he kept them in the boot👍
If you came up behind him and couldn’t get past you snookered yourself. ![]()
I didn’t want him biting my neck as I overtook him.
Odd thing. His snooker hall in Stoke was next to an accountancy firm founded by a Mr Edgar Wallett.
This is my plate, my mother bought this for me for my 18th birthday prezzie… 19 years later I still have it and its been on every car that I’ve owned… P for my Surname, 18 for 18th birthday and then my initials (not gross domestic product as my workmates wind me up over) haha!
Fantastic colour, she looks great.
My “5” at "Sad Hill Cemetery " in September.
Met Lotus club members on our tour, a couple said i would have no trouble selling it to one of their owners, however, it looks just fine on an MX-5 ![]()
I didn’t see the point of personal plates until I got my Series 1 Land Rover. It had an A reg on it because a previous owner had sold the original and when I went to the DVLA office to get an age related plate the lad behind the counter apologised and said I had to have the next available number which was YUM. I was very happy with that. That started me on a search for one for the MX-5 and I found one which sort of spells my surname and was only £250. ![]()
I cannot beleive I posted mine way back in 2020… Its been in storage since then
I’ve never been in to personalised plates. Rather spend the money on another motorbike! ![]()
