Just been insured on my first car, an MX5. Question is, all ‘P’ plates I have found are magnetic, but obviously they wont stick on the aluminium boot lid, bonnet or plastic bumpers.
Alternatives?

I took the missus out with magnetic 'L’plates on a while back.
From memory, I stuck one on the pop up light (it was daytime) and stuck one to the rear panel alongside the rear numberplate.
Otherwise, I think you’re going to have to drill them and tie them on.
A simple alternative to a P plate is no P plate. It’s not a legal requirement is it?
At the risk of sounding like Geoff - What model and year of MX5 do you have?
I was having exactly the same puzzled thought there Captain M.
(As they say, “Great minds” and all that. )

Mk 2.5. Guessing it is aluminium as anything magnetic will not stick to it. They will stick to the side and doors though.
You could velcro it to the rear window. Should be easy enough to later remove any adhesive residue from glass with a glue remover spray can.
Might obstruct rear vision slightly perhaps.
stick them in the windows
