Each web browser comes with various trusted CA signer certificates (VeriSign, Entrust, etc) allowing it to authenticate site certificates issued by one of these certificate authorities.
These site certificates eventually expire (so the CA can make some more money) and they can also be revoked.
Revoked certificates would be a cause for concern, but expired ones less so as long as the URL is still correct.
I use AOL and still have a problem. I get the warning about the unsecured site etc. which I can bypass in ‘advanced mode’ but this results in a sort of ‘Limp Home’ mode - no graphics; simplified text. I can access the site as normal on Microsoft Edge (I use Windows 10) but as I use AOL for everything else, this is a bit of a pain. Are we looking at a week before things are working OK?
thanks for all the updates. It should be sorted today, we’ll keep you posted if not, and apologies for the problem. Its’ just one of those things as Cerberus said above, something the Club only has to do very infrequently and with it falling to volunteers mostly to get their heads around it, find log in details, payment details, upload stuff, etc etc, etc. something no no one will have done for however many years since it last needed doing, its tripped us up.
I’ll lock the thread, so this post remains at the bottom for anyone looking for info… cheers,
