My best friend.(after my wife)

I thought I was going to loose by dog recently as she was diagnosed with Mammary Cancer, but after a 90 min operation by my vet, she has thankfully survived and is behaving like she is a 12 month old pup again.

You can say “It’s just a dog” so many times, But as soon as they get ill it all goes out the window.

Thats a lovely looking pup. Her expression reminds me of the black lab we had when I was growing up, She managed to perfect the “Slightly gormless, Fat but unfed” look and could twist the whole family around her little finger claw. The best pet our family ever had.

How olds your hound now then?

Happy days **

I must admit that i’m a sucker for mans best friends, they just become part of the family, and is heart breaking when they are ill.

Glad she’s ok.

Regards

My Golden Retriever was 9 years old last October.

As a quick test of who love you more, your wife or your dog, simply shut them both in the boot of your car, after an hour let them out, which one will be pleased to see you Wink

Are they both really “Fiends”?     LOL

Great news she`s on the mend Thumbs up  Ours had to be put down a few years back because she kept having fits…never a nice time.

BTW… Am i the only one who read the thread title & thought your best friend was after your wife Wink

OOPs  {#emotions_dlg.embarassed}  Now fixed.    I wrote that post at 10.30pm and I was a bit tired, I hadn’t got over our day out in the Lakes on Tuesday when we had walked up Black Crag.

I like the way the dog is described as “best fiend”. I know the sentiment both ways!! I’m glad the operation went well. DogBig Smile

Fully agree - our Golden retriever, Petra, is an absolute smasher.

Was very hard to lose our Collie a few years back, which is why we got Petra in good time.

She is beautiful and of the traditional golden colour. If I had been unlucky enough to have lost Polly I intended to get one with a similar colour as yours, I think.

Indeed she is.

She came from working dog stock so is quite small compared to most of the lighter ones, but her colour is always the first thing people remark on.

Lovely nature - unless you are a pheasant. She will chase those a very long way!

“Let me at 'em!!”

I couldnt help myself…

Exellent! Thanks! Big SmileThumbs up
