Hi I bought my mx5 a few weeks ago and I have covered a little over a thousand miles, unfortunately I have got a poorly engine. It has 132k on the clock . It’s a mk3 1.8. I have only just had a quick look for a replacement engine but I have been quoted over £1000 I have read you can with some modifications use the mazda 6 1.8 engine. The big ends are very clunky on start up and when reving above 2500 rpm, it used a lot of oil during the short period of my ownership. Can anyone offer me any advice please.
