When we bought are new mazda cars in 2016 & 2017 we registered online for My Mazda and were able to see our service history, digital service record etc. through our Apple i-Mac. Today I find that currently the only way enter My Mazda is through Apple or android apps. In the case of the apple app it appears is only for iOS Systems (Apple i- phones & i-pad). Our PC uses High Sierra MacOS, effective the iOS system yet seems it is not compatible with the My Mazda App.
Has anyone else found out that My Mazda does not work with Desktops and can comment if there are any the future plans for My Mazda to return for desktops. Or do we now have to use mobiles or rush out to buy iPads (personally I Hate Mobiles)
The My Mazda Page says that the website {used for desktops to access the info) is temporarily offline. I wouldn’t worry about it too much, the app is pretty useless and doesn’t have much in it.
I do understand from reading the app descriptions that the apps were for android, i-phone and i-pad. Just thought that since apple have aimed to align features in iMacOS with its mobile and i-pad iOS, then the app should have downloaded to my desktop.
Take the point that there isn’t a lot on there, so won’t bother to download it on our i-pad.
Just peeved that if Mazda are trying to enhance the customer experience then why not just add devices to those that exist rather than take away.
I previously had no problems logging in via my laptop PC but I’ve tried just now & like other folk I’ve found that I can no longer log on in this way. As I don’t have any sort of Smartphone - just a fairly basic mobile, which is all that I need - I see that I’ve now lost access.
However - I’m not particularly bothered, the only advantage of this facility seemed to be the ability to access my service history online - but I know the service history for my car & have hard copies of all of the relevant garage receipts etc on file (even for items such as an air con re-gas, new tyres etc which wouldn’t appear on the MyMazda history), all of these documents will go with the MX-5 when I eventually decide to part with it.
Incidentally when my car had its 2nd annual service, this was carried out by a - good - independent garage however they incorrectly uploaded the service data to MyMazda, indicating that the service had been done 3 months after the actual date when it was actually done! Which would then presumably have invalidated the warranty… However because I’d kept the garage invoice & credit card receipt confirming the actual date on which the service had been performed, I’d have been able to prove otherwise.
