My MK2.5 Arctic now up to spec!

After not getting much use since I bought it last year, and after a full service, I managed to get a matching hardtop and a mint set of Rota’s. I also have a matt black MK1 hardtop I bought previously which whilst has a cool JDM look, I think the arctic hardtop makes more sense, it really pops as the paint work is still really good.

Jobs being done next month:

  • Some sill/arch restoration work (has rust in usual places, chassis rails will get looked at next year)
    * Meister R sportive coilovers (20mm drop)
    * SS dual exit exhaust (mx5 parts probably)
    * May get 20mm wheel spacers to give tiny bit more ‘stance’, nit sure yet
    * 'E-type" style sticky numberplate or maybe offset JDM style?
    * I might ditch the sliver wingmirror covers

Very nice, you should be proud of your car.

By the way your lovely photograph is somewhat spoiled as the car appears to be squashed

hmmmm, seems to get squashed when browser window is shrunk, not sure why, but changed to smaller image size, maybe that’ll help

Car looks great and a nice example.

Only thing I would change are the indicator and reflector lens for clear ones. A small change but they will look so much better particularly against that colour paintwork.

Enjoy and happy motoring.

Nice car! I’d keep the silver wing mirrors - breaks up the colour nicely!

good idea, yeah I have a few smaller cosmetic things I’d like to do, I’ll ad those to the list. Others include stuff like a blue stitched headliner fabric for the hardtop, replace the orange dash illumination for brighter blue colour and also switch the sliver trim around the radio/shifter for black as silver looks quite dated to me.

Bit confused with your posting Bob.

Your spending over £500 on Miester’s

You are buying a SS exhaust say £200

You are buying wheel spacers maybe!!!

You are putting off getting the front chassis rails 100% until next year, while they are a major factor in crash protection on the car.

Seems strange to me if they are needing done.

nothing confusing about it, I simply value my vehicular vanity over my personal safety.

Can’t argue with that honesty !!!
