My old, new, and my other plaything!

I had an MX5 a some years ago. It was great fun and I was sorry to see it go, so it is with great pleasure that I now have another. The new one is no where near as fast as the old one as it had a lot of work on the engine and a substantial bhp hike, however it is nice to have a fun car to drive on the colder days, and theres lots of them here in Scotland!

The old one
The old one.

The replacement, bought from a chap who had become too fat to fit into it! Powered by a 1700cc ford crossflow on twin 40 carbs.

It’s end!

My second westfield, I built this one myself. A 2litre zetec with individual TBs puts out around 170bhp and weighs 580kg. I cannot imagine ever selling this car as its just too much fun!

My latest addition, more practical and a little less hair raising than the westfield!

They all look good.

What happened to the first Westfield? It looks to be in a bit of a state…

Aw I love your little blue Westfield! So cute! How much did it set you back?

The first Westfield fell victim to driver malfunction! [:$]
The second one cost somewhere around 10K to put together, however I have never sat down and added the invoices up. The picture of the blue car was taken just after completing a lap of the Nurburgring, without doubt the most fun I have had in a car!

 Cars look fab mate.

Looking even better now with new wheels on it

After

Hi David

Both cars are looking good [H]

I’ve been helping one of the Guys at work to build a Westfield, powered by a Megabusa engine.

It’s surprising how long it takes to build one if you do everything to perfection…looking forward to getting my passenger test ride…[:D]

A megbusa engined car will be pretty mega! Is he planning on having it mainly as a track car or road as well? The BEC cars are so fast. My brother built a fisher fury with a Blackbird engine and box. The only trouble with it in my opinion is that in traffic its a bit of a nightmare, it has a tendancy to kangaroo. His car also has no reverse so if need be then he has to get out and push it backwards! A couple of pics of his car…

And here, taking a “shortcut” at Doune Hillclimb!

Do the new wheels have polished rims on them?

What make of rim are they please?

Try this link for the wheels.

His car will be for track and road, also won’t have reverse, so a trip to Waitrose carpark should be interesting…[*-)]

Wheels look great & best colour car IMO. Blue one looks fab too [Y]
