Ive got a 1991 (pinkish) red Mx5.
Ive decided that I want to get all the bits and have a real go at getting the paintwork decent as its looks absolutely shocking, dull, faded and a bit pink.
Probably not helped by the uncommonly long hot and sunny year we have had in South Manchester. The upside though, was loads and loads of open top days.
There is a lot of info on various sites including this one but SO much that I am overwhelmed at the options.
Could someone offer opinions on the following shopping list.
-
DA polisher (ive thought about getting one for a while and this is a good excuse) - something like this from Amazon ** Link amended as original post was incorrect **
https://www.amazon.co.uk/VonHaus-Dual-Action-Polisher-Kit/dp/B07FCLLLXK -
clay bar (I will wash the car and then do this)
-
Very light abrasive such as Poorboys SSR 1 using DA polisher
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Poorboys-SSR-Super-Swirl-Remover/dp/B004ZLARCQ -
Some sort of Carnauba wax product.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Simoniz-Carnauba-Liquid-Wax-500ml/dp/B00YNHK3OE
I could take it to a detailer but I fancy having a go so any comments from the experts out there?
Much appreciated.
