I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: __Anybody recognise this?
Found this on my drive after moving the MX. Slim possibility it could be from another car, but more likely the MX, from somewhere near the NS front wheel. The screw has corroded, which is probably why it has detached. Can’t get under it to take a look but maybe somebody will know where it belongs and if it is vital to get it back on pronto.
Thanks for that. Looks a lot like the odd shaped aperture on the left of the picture doesn’t it. I’ve just had an oil and filter change done, so perhaps they disturbed it then. Lucky in a way that it decided to drop off at home rather than out on the road. Now I know it definitely belongs I’ll get the car up on the ramps and refit it.
Thanks again for the quick response.
There was at least one cover like that on my NC 3.75, sort of central to NS position on the undertray. I had to tighten it up as it was loose. Possibly a second over oil drain too, OS towards the rear but mine was missing.
They’re pretty flimsy those things. Mine rattled so I ziptied it shut. Easier to remove the entire plate for servicing than to bother with these silly little covers.
Looks like the flux capacitator to me, I’d be really careful not to drive at or over 88 mph without that part on, you might experience an unwanted paradox.
If not the FC then it’s clearly the indicator fluid regulating flange. Make sure you’re not leaking indicator fluid and be sure to keep it topped up or your indicator won’t flash properly!
