Congratulations and Happy 28th Birthday to the N.E. Midlands Area of the MX-5 Owners’ Club!
The idea for a specific N.E. Midlands area away from the original general ‘Midlands’ area was proposed by Clive and Maureen Southern. (You may remember them from the Softtop, Hardtop article as they were part of the original MX-5 Owners’ Club Team.) Notification first appeared in the 1996 Spring edition of Softtop, Hardtop magazine in v2, no.3. Initially, it was nothing more than an entry in the Area Directory.
Obviously, the idea met with success and the 1996 Summer edition of Softtop, Hardtop, v2, no.4 carried the following report:
