NA boot lid lock

I am looking to replace my bootlid on my 1990 as it has a bit of a ding on the edge and the paintwork is a bit rough.

The issue here is that the current (original) one has a key lock to open it. The potential replacements I have seen do not have a key lock. I presume they work from a boot release in the cabin, which I do not have.

Does anyone have any idea as to what it would involve to change it over?

Thanks

No Mk1 boot lid has a lock built into the lid. The key hole is always in the rear plastic finisher panel.

Sounds like someone has fitted a non-standard lock at some point.

Oh, that’s a surprise. It’s a UK model, no frills…

UK model, key hole visible in rear finisher

Yeah, I see. Also did quick search on google. Well, I’m away at the mo but will have a look and see what’s going on when I get back.

By the way, your dark tan seats go well with the silver.

Thanks.

Not my car; I only own Eunos Roadsters.

In general, the issue to watch with fitting used boot lids is snapping the captive studs.

Are they all yours? V nice collection. I’ve only had mine less than a month and enjoying it a lot.

Must be losing me marbles. It has the standard lock. Been away for a few days and that’s how I remembered (or dreamt) it
