Hi guys…… I’ve decided I need to remove the dash to sort out the pipes going to the heater….. and im intending to remove the dash to do the job properly….
Can anyone point me to a ‘how to’ guide or shall I just make it up as I go?
How soon are you planning to do it? I photographed an NA dash removal for a guide in STHT a good few years ago but never wrote it up so it’s never been published. I could try to get it in the next issue of STHT if you’re not in a massive rush.

Ta…. I’ll probably be doing it in the next few weeks….. I currently have the engine and box out doing a refresh and found the heater pipes less than round!
It’s quite a simple job really. In a nutshell, from memory…
Windscreen trims off
Centre console & radio surround out
Radio and heater controls out
Lower steering column onto driver’s seat
There is a big electrical connector each side of the dash to unplug
A screw under the square cover at the centre front of the dash
Then remove the 6 rectangle covers (2 in each door shut and 1 each side of the center console)
The whole dashboard beam and cover will come off as one unit.
Move it gently and check for anything else still connected.
It’s quite a nice job to do in my opinion.

I took mine out a few times and captured most of the steps on our Spanner and Hammer Facebook page.
Adding to advice above, I found removing the binicle and clocks a worth while step, and the switches for fogs and bonnet release. The earth cables attached to the crash bar were an ■■■■ for me for some reason. I’ll be doing mine again in Feb/March as I put the door bars back in.
I’ve added my photos from back in the day to this Google drive folder if you can view them.
They should be sort of chronological but maybe a bit abstract without text.
