NA Eunos Driver's door stuck shut

  1. My model of MX-5 is: NA Eunos V Special
  2. I’m based near: Grantham
  3. I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: opening a stuck drivers door.

The door has stuck shut and is locked.
From the inside the lock slider moves halfway. When operated from the outside with the key, it moves but again only half way.
I can’t comment on the door opening latch as the door is locked.

Can any one tell me how to open the door, or get the door card off with the door shut and what the problem may be?

Possibly the small spring snapped

If your door won’t unlock, this is the most likely culprit. This small spring breaks or comes off and stops the mechanism from returning to the rest position when the handle is released.

This spring fits either the left or the right side.
probably a few slaps against the door just below the lock may release it, NOT hard enough to dent it though… worked for me a few years ago

In the end it was taking the door card off that worked for me.
