Nice one, thanks Steve.
This may be a daft question … how can I tell if my seats are suitable for headrest speakers?
( 1992 Eunos )
Well, you have a Eunos Roadster…
On the headrest, you should be able to find a zip. Unzip it, carefully. Behind you will likely find two speakers fitted. Probably 99% of 199 Roadsters had headrest speakers, or bass thumper seat units.
One car has a Pioneer DEHP77MP unit, which I am told looks kind of retro. Hmm. The face plate is increasingly non-responsive. The other has an el cheapo Alba unit, chosen because it looks like its from the mid-80s. Volume control goes occasionally on the fritz.
Someone fitted a Retrosound unit
I’ve fitted a retro sound unit. The above car was the inspiration but a bit bling for me. I’ll try and upload a photo when I get a chance.
Here is my retro sound unit. I wanted my interior to be as simple as possible so I’ve kept it all black with white lighting
If you aren’t overly fussed what it looks like but just want a reliable head unit…
Sony XPLOD fitted in my Eunos and Shogun.
Seamless Bluetooth with your phone, music/sat nav through the speakers, mutes the radio/music when giving directions.
Tried many units over time and the Sony works completely reliably [unlike some]
For the Eunos I got one BNIB for £30 off the bay
Thanks for all your replies, very helpful
