Not sure the Mk1 top hats will fit the MK2 body.
They will physically fit but car will be up in the clouds ?? four by four look
Surprised at that Rob, as the NB is the heavier car. When I fitted MK2.5 units to our 1991 Eunos, the car ended up at about the height of a standard MK1. The look took a little bit of getting used to but great drive - very, very pleased.
Not done the reverse before particularly with Bilsteins that ride low on the early Eunos but would have expected them to ride too low rather than too high with the extra weight?
I fitted mk2.5 standard units to my VVT mk1 with all mk2.5 running gear incl LSD,6 sp box ,mk2.5 dash etc so weight should be similar to mk2.5 but it was about 2in higher than when it had mk1 units.I am interested to see what advice is given to this query as I have set KYB adjustable mk2 shocks complete with springs and tops and I want to fit to my mk1 also but dont want it too high or should I get really low springs like 50mm to compensate or will they ruin the ride/comfort level.I also have new ish set mk2 Konis here.Few montha back we fitted TA Tecnics coilovers to it and they were dirt ,rattly, bumpy, ruined the car so I took them out and sold them on.
OP is looking to fit Mk1 top hats to a Mk2, not fit Mk2 top hats to a Mk1.
What I thought; you can’t fit NA top hats to the NB:
