Has anyone used this company?

thanks
Sorry no I haven’t. Had a look at their website and Facebook pages and they look good. Washing the salt off the underside first etc
Would be very interested to hear how you get on if you go there / costs as I need to get mine sorted this year
I’m leaving the car with them over Christmas and New Year as I will be away for 2 weeks.
The process looks thorough and I expect circa £600.
I’ll ask them to take photos and will report back in the new year.
As long as you understand the MX5 rusts in at least four ways.
From underneath as over the years the existing stonechip materials dry out, disbond from the steel underneath the car and then trap water and air below the disbonded stonechip. Result, rust! Time has to be taken removeing a portion of the stonechip and treating the steel rather than just spraying goo over a rusting surface. That is a waste of time and materials.
In certain cases road crud builds up and allows that damp mess to eat away at areas
where it sits as well as constant wear in other cases cases where the crud does not build up but the steel will tend to wear with the constant “sanblasting” it gets.
The coating on the front wings tends to fail around the arches and due to the thin guage of steel used there, the wing has no corrossion allowance in that area as once it starts it soon goes most of the way through. New or secondhand wings needed.
There are a number of internal spaces that are not water tight nor visable that over the years rusts from the inside out.
Therefore due to the age of the cars and unless you are very lucky just putting the various treatments on may or may not stop rust happening. In certain cases shutting the barn dooe after the horse has bolted.
I hope in your case, the rust has not started in earnest as yet but the cars are getting on.
There are some clean older cars.
Thanks for the warning!
The car was imported in 2002 and has only been used in summer, remaining in the garage through winters.
The underbody looks in very good condition, the sills have been replaced but there are no visible signs of rust and all spot weld marks are present on the wheel arches.
I understand that it may already be rusting in areas that can’t easily be seen and the process starts with a thorough inspection and report.
I want to use it all year round as a second car and believe/hope this process is the best way to help protect the car effectively for a few more years.
As long as you do it with your eyes wide open and accept from time to time metal may need replaced.
