National DVLA related scam

If you have had recent events involving the purchase or registration of any vehicle, check your bank acount for an intitial 50 pence, and a monthy withdrawal of £7.85 therafter. Easily missed. SWMBO was checking for other stuff today, notice it had been recurring every 4 weeks for 8 months, called Nationwide who cancelled the card, and refunded her cash.
Rather than go on, here’s a link to the scamming scum bags in their posh London address.

Why they are allowed to operate defeats me.
The Nationwide have them as one of the top scammers operating on the apron strings of ligitimacy. In our case, we agreed to nothing…we had no need…we run a new car where all thge work with the private plate was done by a main dealer 18 months back…our scam started only 6 months ago.

It has got to the point where you have to scrutinise any interaction (online, email, phone etc) as potentially a scam in the first instance, it’s not paranoia they are out to get you…. :eyes:

Scottishfiver: Thanks for informing us of this scam. Sorry it happened to you. Won’t say what words I’d like to say about them.

IanH: You’re right. It’s getting that way and you’re right in that it’s not paranoia either.

No problem my friends. SWMBO until today considered me a bit OCD checking all my accounts ( I have 4) including an unused/dormant credit card account every Sunday with my morning coffee.
Got a fright she did…so she’ll be doing hers too now.
EG I use a dedicated account for Amazon, and top it up /transfer with the purchase cost before I press Buy it Now. They are one of the worst secure providers. I do not go into town with any cards, but keep a suffice cash stash at home. We also got two of these key shields to prevent the Suzuki “radar” ignition keys being scanned. Canny be too careful. When you get into the habits…it’s no bother.

I’ve done some research on companies house. The company behind the website was called Go Vehicle limited. It changed its name today. Now called clickloop limited CLICKLOOP LIMITED persons with significant control - Find and update company information - GOV.UK in case you wanted to report them to trading standards.

Hi Scottish Fiver

Thanks for this

Fortunately my Security System identifies most scams but I have had few leak through e.g. undelivered parcels

Just to flag up that you still may be compromised as when I logged off the site after reading your thread a completely new one to me came up offering assistance

Needless to say I’ve ignored it

PS

It’s calling itself ‘Jetpack’

Jetpack is a security plugin used as part of the Club website.

Yes, I’ve been having this jetpack thing all of a sudden which wants me to give them my emila address!

Actually managed to trigger that myself… interesting. I do know that security levels were adjusted up again the other day as the site has been getting hammered by ‘bots’.

If you get that prompt try a refresh and it could clear it.

Just had that myself. Refresh cleared it

I did a full system security virus scan after seeing and ignoring the jetpack message and everything was A-OK
Will advise if I get it again :crossed_fingers:

I got caught out by this lot but got suspicious after a couple of days and had to cancel my card also after one payment, then when I checked the DVLA website realised my tax hadn’t been paid so now just go to the Post Office to pay it that way at least you get a receipt.

I have a RFID/Faraday pouch credit card holder so they can’t be skimmed (not sure if that is the right word)
