Just got back, had a great weekend, out on track on saturday in session 4 we did have a down pour halfway through the session which made it a bit more interesting to say the least.
Good evening at the marriott with the rest of the North Thames crew, we were the three noisy tables in the corner ( All complaints in writing to Mr E Terry)
A bit confused about the after dinner speech.
A great rally day well done to all of the Northampton members who put a lot of time and effort into this event, thank-you.
I would like to add that the best part of the day for me was the Auto Test, not that I got near the top but I was more then happy with 1.03.
Not a speck of mud on my car as it was nice and clean in the safety of the car park, So a big thank you to Chris ( madge ) for the use of his pride and joy. --------- I will come round Saturday to clean it with my magic cloth.
Well done to Allan ,Paul ,Christine & Barry for keeping North Thames flag flying in the car compitions.
Well, not much to add really. I would just lake to say…
Thanks for the good weather. The forecast looked really dodgy towards the end of last week. Thanks to everyone at North Thames who attended. There were 32 at the Dinner that I know of, maybe more - and a good few extras at the Rally. Thanks to Nicola for booking the hotel and navigating those of us who stayed over today to breakfast, tea break and lunch. I just can’t face tea or supper. Thanks to a really friendy bunch of North Thames members for making the weekend great And finally, thanks to the Northampton team for such a spendid venue and rally agenda. Well Done!
Time now to start thinking about the Spring Rally at Pendennis Castle in Falmouth on 19th/20th May 2012. The accomodation is already booked
We had such a great time this weekend. From start to finish we enjoyed every single minute of it, (well apart from Sundays breakfast)
Great day at Silverstone on Saturday. Alan kept me (fairly) calm throughout, thanks once again Alan. Just remember the bargain, “what goes on in the car, stays in the car”! At least we stayed on the track and going in the right direction, even if we got a bit wet!
Saturday night was just hilarious. Great company, good venue, good food and drink a shall I say different speaker and a goodly bit of shape throwing to finish. Sunday was a brilliant day. Well done to our North Thames winners. Bought some nice bling for the car too.
All finished off with a whole day leisurly drive home today. And food enough to feed an army.
Thanks to every one of you for making it such a good weekend. Cant wait for next year now!
What a fantastic weekend was had by the NT crew, the track session at Silverstone was great (still got a smile on my face now) The gala meal was good, albeit the speeches were longer than necessary.
The rally was as usual well organised and there was lots to do, the autotest was the highlight of the day for me. Had some good runs and the look on Les’s face on my first run was priceless, don’t think he quite knew what to expect.
Many thanks to our unsung hero Nicola for arranging the weekend and the scenic drive back with a great pub lunch to finish off.
Can’t wait to book my next track session at Brands Hatch, but will have to sweep all of the debris out of the interior from the autotest first (I think you were wheel spinning too much Les)

Just like to add my HUGE thanks to all that organised such a great weekend! I had such a fantastic time (other than the bloke who pitch his tent RIGHT NEXT to mine and decided to snore like crazy ALL NIGHT)!! Ok, the after dinner speach was probably only slightly more entertaining than watching the grass grow! The track session at Silverstone was just INCREDIBLE, I had such a blast (sorry Brian if I ‘scared’ you at any point) and the to ‘put the icing in the cake’ the autotest on the Sunday was BRILLIANT! probably the best 5 quid I’ve ever spent!
With regards to your comment Les, I’d LOVE to have a go but…if you saw the brakes after HALF AN HOUR at Silverstone…mmmmmm.
Not too sure if any of you have seen the section on here about ‘the nation rally photos’? Most of us who were on the Autotest are in the photos, so were all now famous!
Oh well, roll on the spring rally, REALLY looking forward to that one!
Just like to say a big thank you to all those who made us (new members) feel welcome. We have only had the 5 for just over a month so this was our first, but hopefully not the last, rally.I did not realise there was so many 5’s. I have booked accomadation ready for the spring rally in Falmouth, hotel rooms going fast for that weekend. We are now looking forward to taking part in a few runs in our area. Once again many thanks.
