National Rally, Chatsworth, who's doing what from the Eastern Region?

So Eastern Region boys and girls; who’s heading to Chatsworth, when are you going and where are you staying ?  Is there any scope for a few ER convoys on the way up do you think?

For info,

Cambridge - Chatsworth, 124 miles via A1.

Norwich - Chatsworth, 147 miles via A17, A47.

Ipswich - Chatsworth, 175 miles via A14, A1.

I’ve booked nothing yet so no idea what my plans are.!

Mandy & I are driving up on Friday morning.

Staying at the Beauchief Hotel (the official National Rally accommodation) Friday, Saturday and Sunday night.

Friday and Saturday we are visiting National Trust properties, Hardwick Hall, Haddon Hall etc. Got to make the most of our NT membership which gives us free entry.

Saturday night is Pie ‘n’ Peas at the Beauchief (official National Rally event).

Sunday is National Rally. Sunday night is a pint and a bite to eat to wind down.

Monday returning home (the long and pretty way).

As you see Martin, some of us are organised Cool

Camping at barlow lakes fri and sat zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Guess what?  Still not sure when I’m going, but probably Saturday afternoon and will find somewhere to stay within 40 or so miles.

If we want to park together in the traditional ER way we will need to arrive together apparently, not sure if its worth trying for an ER meet up somewhere close in the morning?

Sam & I are travelling up Friday afternoon leaving Colchester about 4:30pm.

I’m not sure how many miles that is, but we’re also booked into the Beauchief Hotel, Fri & Sat night.

Friday I’ll meet James & Mandy in the bar if I’ve managed to get something to eat on the way.

Saturday I’m planning of one of the scenic drives, followed by the Pie & Mash Meal.

Sunday am happy to meet somewhere so the ER can park together if required.

How about the Carlton Lees Car park, (DE4 2NX) by the Garden Centre where they are starting the runs from on Saturday.Smile

Sounds like a plan, do you know how far it is away from Chatsworth? I suggest we aim to arrive at 9:00 - 9:15. Best to start another topic dedicated to the meet point I reckon.

Carlton Lees would be the ideal place to meet.

It’s on the B6012 about 1mile south of the entrance to Chatsworth

It’s also well signposted and easily spotted on Google Streets.

Dr. Eunos and Tina are travelling up from S Wales on Saturday morning, viewing another Eunos in Derby and staying at Boars Head in Sudbury nr Tamworth (where the breakfast is fantastic!!) and abling accross the dales early Sunday at high speed to Chatsworth, if anyone wants to tag along phone or text on 07966 154 465Stick Tongue Out

Me and Gill will be driving up on the Sunday morning and heading back the same day.

Quite looking forward to this one … nice and relaxed with no competing. Thumbs up

Does anyone have any confirmation of their Pie & Mash booking?

Hi Smiffy

We have received numbered tickets and wrist bands for the Pie and Pea supper, tickets to be handed in to get your food and wrist bands to be worn to spot any members of the public who try to gate crash.

Ah… That’s sounds familar - Must have put that somewhere safe

We are all going up Friday in 2 MX5’s (not sure when yet as debating whether to call in on MoT event at Curborough en route but that means getting Tom out of school early), meeting up with Emma and William and staying with friends in Macclesfield on Friday and Saturday evening (seeing my Dad nearby on Saturday) then heading over to Chatsworth on Sunday morning.

I’m debating whether to stick Imposter (now completed with all graphics too!) into one of the competitions although can’t really find one that fits what it is, i.e. an old scrapper MX5 remade with bits and bobs of other spares, then resprayed into a bare faced copy of a Le Mans limited edition, complete with BBR turbo and driven by a loon? Thoughts?

You need to enter it into the “old scrapper MX5 remade with bits and bobs of other spares, then resprayed into a bare faced copy of a Le Mans limited edition, complete with BBR turbo and driven by a loon” competition"

I’m sure the rules will be just as confusing as they are for the other categories Smile
