Yes - confusing
In the UK there was a british racing green MK1 Monaco model 1.6 - 450 manufactured 1996/7.
If your car is a 10th anniversary in blue with the chrome style alloys this probably applies…………
Thanks
But no it isnt that version. I have looked at some of the model websites etc .
Its Brit racing green in 1.8 with the Monaco track logo in yellow NB light tan leather interior
Very strange - not heard of this variant and my computer say NO!
Put some pictures up including a clear one of the vehicle information sticker stuck to the car body where the drivers door shuts.
LOL my says no too.
Sure, can do that. I will have to find a way of hosting the image i think tho. lemee look.
in the past obscure special editions end up being ones put together by a dealer, hence no general info on them. A local member had a green MK2 a few years ago which was such a car, and it could have been a Monaco, memory fails me for more details.
Sure, that’s possible. With the different colour seats, walnut inserts and monaco logo etc I would have thought was more than a one off so to speak. But no, ove actually never seen another.
its just hit 50k miles. Needs new hood. Its bog standard so was wondering whether to ‘upgrade’ it altogether. So really wanted to check it wasn’t a rare model that may be better left
The door shut sticker indicates that the car was delivered to the UK with black cloth trim. NB0 would be black, NB2 would be tan leather. Its not even a rebadged 2000 SE. UK retrim, dealer special.
Does state anniversary model on the log book. So guess it must have been a ‘major’ retrim and more from a dealer as you suggest. Funny I can’t remember that being the case, always thought was standard to a degree, Its been out here in Spain 16 years now tho so lifetimes away
http://www.mx5-mazda.co.uk/ shows all the special edition models
Could it be the VS model here in this link http://web.archive.org/web/20140425120607/http://ox.mx5oc.co.uk/guide_eunos.htm
The Monaco badge could have been added by a previous owner, is it a LHD…Spain?
No , a friend of mine bought it in uk bfore they join us out here. Eventually passed over to us. It was with the sticker etc from day one. leather interior, walnut dash, gaitor, all that stuff. I never knew them as dealers change anything at all, to any car to be honest. 5 spd box
This was never an anniversary model as no 6 speed gearbox and limited slip differential.
They were all blue with blue trim, chrome wheels, etc , etc but gearbox and LSD missing from sticker spec are irrefutable.
Sounds like a nice low mileage car that hopefully will suffer less rust issues in Spain than in the UK.
I would mod it if I felt inclined, reasonably safe in the knowledge that I wasn’t desecrating a rare model and above all, enjoy it!
Strange that it states Aniversary model on the log book?
But yes, Im using this car myself more as ive donated my 2.8 bimmer to the better half for her commute and this feels like it needs more linear speed basically. If theres no extra value there as a stock version then I can do what I like
TBH it is not a surprise re the logbook. It is a mistake the dealer sometimes makes. I have seen a crystal blue NBFL 1.8 that said California on the V5
I have just bought one of these Monaco 2000 models, my VIN plate is identical except for the body colour being silver.
