NBFL SV-T OEM waterpump 'liquid gasket eliminator' or regulat gasket?

  1. My model of MX-5 is: __02 NBFL SV-T
  2. I’m based near: __London
  3. I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: __ OEM Water Pump liquid ‘gasket eliminator’ or proper gasket…

Taking a belt and braces approach to maintenance I have ordered OEM parts to do a cambelt and water pump change.

Looking at the mx5parts.co.uk the water pump is said to require ’ liquid gasket eliminator’, not a term I have heard before and I can’t see any mentioned on their page can any one help me source one ?

Alternatively I have ordered the conventional gasket as well, I said I take a belt and braces approach, would there be anyharm in using a conventional gasket instead of the ‘liquid gasket eliminator’ ?

Thanks in anticipation…

A bit old school we used red Hermitite on the joints with a gasket.

I’d just use the Mazda metal gasket on properly clean mating surfaces.

Thanks for your responses BNS and R_R would the metal gasket be this one Robbie :- Waterpump Inlet Gasket, MX5 Mk1 2 2.5

That’s one of them. There’s another where the water pump mates to the block.
