Is your device a Tomtom NVA-SD8110 or the later Alpine unit?
If it is the Tomtom try a soft reset on your navigation device as follows: Press and hold the On/Off button until you see the egg timer the release the button and the device restarts. This can take 30 seconds or more.
If there is no SDCARD you wont see and navigation screens, so when it has started you should be able to press the SRC button to select the music source. It may display AVN Off on the bottom of the screen, if so then you do have to press SRC to get a display.
To bring up the music controls press anywhere along the bottom of the screen.
If it’s the Alpine unit try removing the Audio & Room fuses from the fuse box under the bonnet. Wait a minute or so then refit. You’ll need to lock to lock the steering to clear the DSC lamp.
Thanks guys for the replies,i’m thinking it’s an Alpine unit.
Tried taking fuses out from the nearside fuse panel in car which I have done in the past but it didn’t work this time, could you tell me which fuses under the bonnet I should try removing?
I have disconnected the battery in the past which fixed the problem but one again not this time.
So behind the removable panel on the lefthand side of the Satnav there is a reset button that you would press with a pin or something similar, question now is what happens if I press the button?
I have just had my radio go into freeze mode found out about the re set button on here so pressed it cured the radio straight away just been out to check that the sat nav is still working and all is fine so I would go for it and press the button, mine is a 2014 Sport Venture with the Alpine unit, don’t blame me though if it goes wrong
Oh well worth a try, I will ask my brother he has a 25th AE and I think he has updated his sat nav with an SD card he is away at the moment so will ask him tomorrow.
