I am just under 6’2" height. I used to have NA for street driving. I did the foamectomy to fit ok.
I want to buy NC for track driving. To test I sat in NC2 with the standard height adjustable seats in lowest setting with roof closed, however my helmet was completely wedged at angle. I reckon I need to sit at least 2 inches lower, and need to change the seats - which is fine as I was planning buckets anyway.
I’ve looked at various seats (with sliders as different drivers) however no one will confirm if I’ll fit or not (i.e. if I’ll get at least 2 inches drop without compromising leg space). So it’s a massive gamble to buy car, fit seats, then find I don’t fit.
The NC1 doesn’t have a height adjuster and does sit lower than the lowest setting of later models.
I’m 6’2" and with the seat one click from fully back my horizontal eyeline is half way up the windscreen of my NC1. I’ve never tried it with a helmet.
My friend is about 6ft3 and he often drives my NC on track. He has has an ND himself. He always says the NC is fine, but he’d like steering wheel to be higher.
NC3.75 - I’m 6ft 3” and sit with seat fully down, fully back and wheel fully up. I suspect a helmet would touch the roof but might get away with it because the seat is at its fullest extent both ways. When I first drove like this it felt weird as I normally drive a very upright SUV. However, after a couple of longish drives out it now feels very comfortable.
I’m 6’1.5" Don’t forget the half, it’s important The only one I can fit in is an NC.
Quoting total height is pointless as we have something called a torso to leg ratio, you can have longer or shorter legs and still be 6’2 etc. There is also something called ‘the golden ratio’.
Have performed the seat lowering stuff and with helmet on I have to lean forwards in a lift off hard top and actually rest my head against it, it clears a soft top. Don’t know about a PRH.
The only thing you can do is measure and calculate the height of you in your car in the correct driving position.
Bucket seats are for track use only, if using for the road at all they create large problems so bear that in mind.
Thanks for replies. I’ve done lots of research without conclusion. As you say @DuratecNC - we also have unique body ratios to factor.
I am looking at soft tops to give more options. I think I might just have to gamble and buy NC2/3 knowing I need to swap out the seats & likely modify mounting for new seats - and just hope i fit ok with helmet. What can possibly go wrong!
