NC Clutch permanent slip

  1. My model of MX-5 is: _NC 2.0_
  2. I’m based near: Chippenham __
  3. I’m looking for technical help or recommendations on: _Clutch not not fully engaging_

I would appreciate some help with an intermittent clutch problem with my 2007 2.0 NC.

A recent 3 mile trip to the shops and clutch was fine. Out an hour later, engine start fine but on depressing the clutch pedal there was no progressive resistance for probably three quarters of the way then it came up against a physical stop. On applying more pressure the pedal would push the “blockage” the last couple of inches to the bottom of the footwell.

Releasing the pedal slowly and there was resistance for the first couple of inches then an obvious point where resistance finished and the pedal became totally relaxed. Pumping the clutch pedal and I could physically “tap” and the start of the clutch release point.

Master cylinder showing no loss of fluid or anything on ground under car.

When the car is being driven, there is no point in the operation of the clutch pedal where the clutch feels like it is fully engaged or disengaged from the flywheel (normally about 2 inches from the footwell) with gear changes very clunky.

Its going to have a full brake fluid change and bleed of the system including the clutch slave cylinder but I would appreciate any other actions I might need to consider.
